Why do I have to give yahoo personal information in a non-secure email to obtain info on how yahoo mail works?

I have some questions regarding the BULK email folder in yahoo mail but when I ask them of the support centre they want me to provide personal information, including my "secret" question and answer in an unsecure email. This does not seem intelligent to me. And why can I not get general information without "proving" that I am the yahoo user that I claim to be.

don't ever give personal information out. It could be a trick. They would never ask you to provide such and especially not in an unsecured manner
