Who gave YAHOO permission to delete a particularly personal email?

Communications with my attorney both prior to and after the email in question still exist, as does the subject line of the email.

The entire text has been deleted -something impossible for me to do after it's been mailed. Only Yahoo themselves could take such action. You've illegally tampered with my personal content!

I darn well better get an answer!!
Who gave YAHOO permission to delete a particularly personal email?
Yahoo owns your email. They can open, read, and delete your email and its contents without permission. They cannot however disclose some of the information held inside it with a 3rd party. If you want an email were nobody except you would have legal access to it, buy your own website/server and host your email on that.

If you knew your significant other's personal email password, would you check it once in a while?

A while back my girl gave it to me to check something for her. This was a while back but she hasn't changed it (she doesn't check her email often). We met online. I came across old letters from previous online dating members in her inbox. I gave in a read some. I feel pretty bad about it.

She has spoken online with a few but they're short responses. Only one email mentioned that she's dating someone. That's good news. Last couple of weeks there's been almost no email exchanges with dudes from dating sites that I know of.

I'm tempted to write pretending to be someone else. No way. That's pretty lame, I know. But tempting.

I need to ask her to change her password or I'm gonna become obsessed on trying to bust her...maybe finding something I don't want to find. What would you do? Serious adult answers please. Thanks.
If you knew your significant other's personal email password, would you check it once in a while?
I would never give anyone my email password. I think you should talk to her. Just be completely honest and say something like.."you know how you gave me your email password to check stuff awhile ago..well i kinda couldn't help looking in there ok. I am really sorry. I just feel like I want to keep looking and I know its nosy but at the same time its just human curiousity. Please can you change your password cos i really don't want to invade your privacy. I do feel a bit insecure about some stuff i saw..." etc. You get the idea.

Now if i were her and I gave you my password I would not be overly freaked that you had looked in there altho I wouldn't like that you had done it again. It is a privacy invasion(I would do exactly the same thing as you had done..hey!) But if you are honest hopefully you can get your fears resolved and improve communication with her. Only you know the best way to do that i guess.
Reply:you need to come clean because you have trust issues and it doesn't sound like she's given you any reason to be snooping around. let her decide whether or not to change it after you tell her what you've been doing. if i was her, i'd change it unbeknownst to you; you violated her trust. and if she was testing you....you failed.
Reply:You are right. Ask her to change her password and the situation will be fixed.
Reply:I will definitely peek. That's why I my password is secret.
Reply:i would suck it up and not check it!!!

thats an invasion of privacy

would you like it if she is checking your email all the time without even knowing!!!

i would hate it, so i wouldnt do it to someone else!!!

Golden rule:

treat others as you would like to be treated!!!

im not even an adult

but im as mature as one!!! so ha!
Reply:Yes, I did. While I was pregnant with BOTH of my kids, my husband has a nasty porn problem, and ignored me completely. If he had paid attention to me, I wouldn't have suspected him, but I did. I still know his password(s) and still check *very* infrequently, but he also scans the disgusting porn sites *very* infrequently. Men are stupid--they should change their passwords...
Reply:I still do do this lol. How naughty of me. However my partner is away for four weeks at a time, so i just check it for him, delete anything that looks like junk and pass on anything important for him. I dont go snooping though id feel like i had no trust for him. It would be oh so tempting to catch them out doing something they shouldnt be though wouldnt it?

I wouldnt write her an email pretending to be someone else. After all, what if she did reply and you didnt like the response? You've just set yourself up for trouble.

Perhaps you could mention to her, apparently there have been a lot of email hackers lately, you might want to change your password so they dont hack you, i changed mine. That way it doesnt sound like you've just been in her account. Its really not a big deal though, you just need to stop yourself from looking in there. Although its tempting just have some self control and tell yourself that its not yours to look at.
Reply:I confess I used to do this. I stopped when I became more confident in our relationship. My excuse is he had broken my heart once before. What is yours? There has to be a reason you don't trust her. You need to work on that first. Changing her password isn't going to make this feeling go away.

Good luck.

Getting a Divorce, wife hacked into my personal email account and now wants to use it in cournt and blackmail.?

2 part question: getting a divorce and wife hacked into my email account and is using this as a barging chip. Is this legal? can she do this? Can I counter claim her hacking to make it inadmissible in court?

Second part, she has recorded our conversations between her and myself with out my knowledge. Is that usable in court and legal? What can I do to stop that?

Getting a Divorce, wife hacked into my personal email account and now wants to use it in cournt and blackmail.?
holy crap. how did your wife hack into your email?!?!????
Reply:Tell her I'm proud of her!
Reply:both sound totally legal to me. what do you have to hide
Reply:Depends if you have children and if what you said can prove that you're an unfit parent. She'll take full custody. CCCS don't give a crap.
Reply:My ex-boyfriend was married to a woman in GA and while we were dating she did the same thing to him. She hacked his account and printed off a bunch of Ebay receipts to try and get her child support raised and when the courts found out she got into his email they would not allow her to use the information in court.

His attorney informed him that hacking into email is looked upon the same way as opening anothers mail. What she has done is illegal in some states but you would have to speak to an attorney to know for sure. I hope everything works out for you!
Reply:As far as your email goes, depending on the judge he may not use them because they are hear say. There really isn't anyway to prove who wrote those emails and there are way too many possibilities.

But as far as the recordings go. The law states that only one party has to know about the recording. My advice either start recording the conversations yourself to use against her and don't say or do anything that can look bad on yourself.
Reply:I doubt your wife ''Hacked" into your e-mail. I bet she just typed the password you gave her, and in that case, your got nothing on her.

Maybe you shouldn't be putting things on the internet that can screw you over like that.
Reply:I think thats illegal

Why arent u consulting with your attorney?

Reply:Ask your attorney, but using your e-mail as a bargaining chip is legitimate to my knowledge. My ex-wife's attorney is known to commonly do much more to get bargaining chips, from videotaping people having affairs to setting them up by paying a woman to go up and talk to them at a bar while being videotaped.

Second part varies from state to state. It would be legal and admissible where I live, and you can look it up for MO as easily as I can. In many states, as long as one person (her) consents to the recording, it is legal. In other states, both have to.

Sounds like you may want to settle out of court, which is cheapest anyway. But ask your attorney what her recordings and spyings are worth. The court really doesn't care if you call each other names, and if it's a no-fault divorce, the court doesn't care who you slept with in many cases.
Reply:Sorry to say it but its legal! I did the same to my ex wife for a bargaining chip during my divorce! Nothing you could do, you should have watched what you said and changed your passwords! Bummer for you!
Reply:I dont know but I am pretty sure she can. She's your wife...what's yours is hers and hers is..you know the deal.

My guess is she found what she was looking for in your e-mail and you probably deserve to be blackmailed.

Reply:I don't know the laws in MO, but in CA she would be guilty of several felonies. Not only would the court not allow her to use that information, she would be arrested and prosecuted.

Tell her if she tries to use the information you will have her arrested.
Reply:I actually have seen this. my best friend did all that to her husband, it was legal she got money won the lawsuit..she got$$$
Reply:The e-mail isn't admissible in court and your wife could be in trouble for hacking into your account. The recorded conversations could be admissible, but it will depend on the circumstances. You need to talk to your lawyer about all of this.
Reply:A couple of things....first get a lawyer...he or she will now the answers...secondly...What did you do that she now has a barging chip...I know is some states it is legal to tape someone without their consent...you need to call a lawyer that would be the right thing to do
Reply:If she hacked your e-mail from the computer in your house YES, it's legal, yes she can do that, no grounds to counter sue.

Recorded conversations are legal as long as one of the parties being recorded has knowledge. It's legal and she can use it.

What your attorney should do is file a motion to exclude evidence basing it on coercion.

If I send an email to someone, are they able to trace back personal info about me such as my name, address?

I recently sent an email to someone and found out they are a nut case. Now they claim they are going to trace back and find out personal information about me. I did not give them any personal information in my correspondence. Can they somehow trace where the email is sent from using technology on the web? Is there reason for me to be concerned?
If I send an email to someone, are they able to trace back personal info about me such as my name, address?
It MIGHT be possible, if they REALLY know what they are doing. Plus, they will probably have to fork out some money to pay to do some lookups. I wouldn't worry too much though, but if you are worried, report them to the police...they can attempt to track them down and press charges.
Reply:Most they could do is just know your email adress but you can easily block theirs.
Reply:All they can find out is where your general service area is (City or State) but not your name or address so don't worry about it and block their email address as spam and forget it...
Reply:all they can get besides your email address is the ip address it was sent from and your isp but they may have your name as well because when you set up an email account it asks what name you want to send with your email but other than that they can't trace the email to your address
Reply:Do you have any personal information associated with that email address? Make sure your password is safe so that he/she cannot read your email and make sure you don't have private information in any public profile associated with that address, especially if it is a yahoo address. You should have no reason to be concerned. However, if you think the threat is real, you should always report it to the authorities.

I use 4 different email addresses, my main address is the only one that does not show new email on my tool bar and personal assistant. It is the new yahoo page was working now it is not. Thanks Ken.
Why isn't new email showing up on tool bar and, or my personal assistant?
Yep. Yahoo Mail updates give unreliable readings of Mail Notifiers every where. Mine

stay steady. My friends keep on adding up. Lots of others no reading at all.

I want to save email messages into a folder, into my personal folder in windows is this possible?

This saving emails is new to me, and I need to save some very important emails. I've created several folder names on the sidebar, but I am unable to transfer the emails into the folders. It keep saying folder is empty. It would be even better if the emails could be saved into a created folder in my documents on windows.
I want to save email messages into a folder, into my personal folder in windows is this possible?
Yes you can do both

When you want to save the email on a folder in Yahoo mail, if the mail is open,

-Click on the arrow on the 'move' button for a drop down list,

-There select the folder you want to move the email to.

-If the email is unopened, then check the box next to it %26amp; continue with the above steps.

-Yahoo should move that mail automatically.

Saving an email to your computer is easy, assuming you are using Internet Explorer.

-Open the email

-On your tool bar, click on 'File'

-On the drop down, click 'save as'

-A pop up box will appear, click the arrow next to the search box for a drop down

-Select the folder you want the mail to go to

-Name the email on the bottom

-Click Save %26amp; you're done

I have found that I often forget where I put the email, so you may want to create a folder on your desktop first as your personal folder, then you always know where it is.

-Right click on an empty space on your desktop

-On the pop up box, hoover over 'New' to 'Folder'

-Name the folder %26amp; click ok

Hope this answers your questions, steadfast 1 %26lt;%26gt;%26lt;

Can I be terminated for checking personal email?

I was placed on administrative leave for checking my personal email during work. I have seen everyone in my office, my manager included, check his/her email. Even when I was in training, the trainer talked about checking his Yahoo account. I feel like I am being set up to be terminated and that the company is going through my work with a fine toothed comb to find any mistake. Thus far, I have received two written memos for what I believe to be trivial issues. I know that others in the office, who have had serious infractions have not received memos for their actions
Can I be terminated for checking personal email?
Sadly this has happened to me. Depending on the state the supervisor doesn't even need a reason to terminate.

In my situation my supervisors actually told me numerous things against policy were okay. They also did these things, as did everyone else. When they decided they didn't want me to work there anymore (since they didn't want to fire the verbally/mentally abusive supervisor) they started writing me up for these things. I tried to bring the abusive supervisor to hr's attention, and they didn't care and didn't want to hear it. Once I got burnt out because of it, I was wrongfully terminated. And it's really ironic, since I was reaaally good at my job, and the abusive supervisor was not.

My lesson was don't try to be nice (doing to much, blaming myself when I wasn't at fault, and not standing up for myself), and write everything down just in case. I don't necessarily recomend you not be nice but I do recommend that you write everything down. I could have sued for the wrongful termination (and with this company I should have - even though I don't believe in going around suing everyone) and now I'm not able to, as I didn't get things written down.

Maybe another job in a less hostile enviroment would be better for you? I certainly don't recommend working in a place like that. It's not good for you, no matter the amount of money you make.
Reply:This does seem very trivial and maybe they are setting you up - but why. I mean why do they (maybe) want you gone. Anyhow, if they want to fire you they can, you can't really stop them and unless you can prove the firing was unjustified or prejudicial (very hard to do) there is not alot you can do about it.

I'd try to figure out why they may want to fire you, and work towards fixing that. You also may want to start looking for a new job on your own - then you can just quit.
Reply:It's possible they are using un-enforced rules to scuttle you.

Best thing to do - if you want to keep the job, is to follow ALL the rules - even if others aren't.

But if the environment's that hostile - I'd seriously consider finding other work. Working in those conditions doesn't sound like much fun.
Reply:Read the Employee Manual you were given when you were hired.

Many companies will NOT let employees check Email, some companies don't mind.

If you don't know, ask the Administrator.

They used that account to pretend they were me , to trick another person into responding.

It was their way of finding certian information from them.

What can I do about it? I am furious
Some one admitted to me that they open a email account with my personal information?
Contact your lawyer and the prosecuting attorney's office. Sent them to jail and sue them for all they are worth. This is highly illegal. Do not stand for this sort of violation of privacy. Do not talk with them and do not try to retaliate doing the same to them as they can then send you to jail and sue you.
Reply:do you mean they have your personal information, like name adress, or they have important information like social security and pin, because either way, not much you can do.
Reply:Go to whoever they were trying to get the info from and tell them what happened. Then try and call the email provider or email them and let them know that someone is using your info for fraudulent purposes.
Reply:If they did that ... try to change your password .. and make the password long ... 10 characters or more ... with small letters, big letters, numbers and symbols ..
Reply:Do the same to them.
Reply:So no more giving out personal information.
Reply:1. Tell your friend to cancel the account.

2. Talk with your friend, explain how you feel about the subject (they probably didn't realize that you would be mad).

3. Explain that it is illegal.

4. Tell your other friend what the evil friend did.

Keep in mind that you are right (I would be furious too).

I hope this helps!

Can my employer ready my personal email from my secured Mac server that requires a password? ?

I am very suspicious about this.

I have internet access at my office which is a huge nationwide corporation. I know they have access to my email at work.. thier email.. my business email that is. I only use that account for business related things of course. I am the recepient often of jokes that are forwarded from co workers ect.

However, on breaks ( my own personal breaks ) I can and do check my own personal email that is "secured"encryped and so on.. it requires a password that I DO not store on my computer.

I was approached yesterday with something personal from my boss. It was not a huge deal, but none the less it made me think omg.. are they reading my personal emails? it appears as though they may have.. like I said it's not a big deal but wow.
Can my employer ready my personal email from my secured Mac server that requires a password? ?
Typically employers reserve the right to inspect any and all traffic or data on their networks in the name of security and proper use of their resources. If it really was information they could only have found out via your email, yes it is possible your mail is being read. Perhaps it isn't really encrypted, or you have a keylogger installed or something.

I don't like to think of such things, but if it is in your employers policies to do so not much you can do about it.

I've never tried that...why don't you give it a shot! I have myspace, so it would be hard to answer that. Good Luck!
Reply:i think so
Reply:nope, you need myspace to do that.
Reply:No.

The only thing the personal url is good for is for people to remember how to get to your myspace easily.

Myspace has it's own internal e-mailing system, so you can't bring in outside e-mailing clients.
Reply:No, you have to send them an email from a myspace account.
Reply:if you have their email address, yes you can send email to anyone.
Reply:You must have a myspace in order to contact someone that does.

If I check my personal email at work, could anybody access it or see it?

My boss was asking for my yahoo address and was trying to foward my work's email to my yahoo mail but I never even got any mail fowarded to my personal mail. Could they somehow see my messages when I go to my yahoo mail at work?
If I check my personal email at work, could anybody access it or see it?
Depends on what kind of company you work for and what they have installed on the computer.

Where I work and another place a friend of my works they can see any website that you go to on a work computer.

Theres always keyloggers too. The high end keyloggers can log any thing at all that happens on the computer it is installed on. Including webcam video, webpages, voice chats, voice recordings, anything that is typed. Pretty much everything and anything you can do on a computer.

The company my sister works for can access her computer from a differen computer. And they're in a different city.

Normally, yes. Most companies nowadays monitor the internet use in some way. Wether they can see your messages/e-mails, who knows, but they more then likely can see what websites your logging onto.
Reply:yes they have full access to anything you do on a company computer

If someone forwards a personal email you meant for only a few people to see, should I be mad?

My dad lives in another state, and I haven't really seen him in about 5 years, and 6 years prior to that. He's never been what you'd call a father to me. But we have each others' email addresses. I sent a personal email out to a few family and friends on my contacts list. My dad didn't agree with a part of it and sent it to a bunch of his coworkers, who emailed me to basically yell at me. And as a result, he didn't see me when he came to visit my grandma (in the same state). We haven't talked in months... and I just want to know, should I be angry that he forwarded a message that was sent privately?
If someone forwards a personal email you meant for only a few people to see, should I be mad?
Yes, I would be upset and I would no longer send him personal emails. It just shows that he is insecure and needs other ppl opinions before he can react to anything. What a coward.
Reply:i think that if your father hasn't even been in your life and you know he acts this way, why would you email him? and if he's childish enough to send your personal email to co-workers who don't even know you and then THEY would write you back, that's ridiculous and your father is a loser.

cut off all contact with him, you're better off!
Reply:Yeah I would be pissed,if he has the right to be mad so do you. That email was private and it was none of his co workers buisness. You have more reason to be upset right now but he is your dad so you two should make up and talk!!!
Reply:yeah you should be angry about it..that email is personal..he shouldn't have sent it to his co workers even if he didnt agree on something...that's none of their business...i'd be really angry
Reply:Your dad needs to grow up. Don't waste your time being mad
Reply:I wouldn't be at all happy.
Reply:Please, before you jump to any conclusions on this, maybe your father needed someone to "talk to" about whatever you e mailed him. Obviously, he was upset. Can you honestly say you've never done the same thing even when a friend told you something in confidence?

Just tell him how you feel about it and try to work it out. No matter what differences you and your father have, please don't throw away a chance to get to be in each others lives. Families are ALWAYS going to have problems, but that doesn't mean they still don't love each other. Good luck

What qualifies a personal email as spam? (see additional details)?

As of recently (the past few months) I've found that no matter what the content of the email, no matter what the subject line, it always ends up in the bulk/spam folder. If enough people flag it as spam, does it automatically go to the spam folders of people's emails? I thought at the beginning it might be the sheer volume, but my boss also uses his personal email for business and probably writes double the amount of emails I do so that option is out.

Does anyone know for sure?
What qualifies a personal email as spam? (see additional details)?
Yahoo has there own way of determining what is spam...I know some of my email buddies messages go to spam after a long time of going to my inbox. Just make sure that you keep you spam messages in your bulk folder for at least a week (that is the minimum setting)Click on Options...then Spam protection...Make sure the dot is in front of the option to allow emails to last awhile...several options there on length...if you find a message in the bulk...open it up and mark it as NOT SPAM...This will send it to the inbox and any future messages from this person....What other people do on the other end has nothing to do with your messages going there...They will have to do the same thing as you

Question in response to a personal email: If Christ was not speaking of Peter as the Rock, why change his name

From Simon to Peter( Petra-the rock). I mean wasn't that making things confusing? Why change his name to mean "the Rock" and then say "You are Peter and on this rock I will build my Church." Surely He knew that would be confusing to us. In truth I take what He said as it was said. Peter(Petra) was the chosen Apostle to lead.
Question in response to a personal email: If Christ was not speaking of Peter as the Rock, why change his name
It is biblical style of narration.
Reply:What is confusing about it? Rock = foundation. Pretty common saying.
Reply:Jesus was talking about Himself when He said "And I say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it"..........supporting scripture can be found in 1 Peter 2:7
Reply:perhaps it meant that Simon was stubborn, "head like a rock"... just a nickname that got over-interpreted
Reply:Mat 16:15 He said to them, But you, whom do you say Me to be?

Mat 16:16 And answering, Simon Peter said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Mat 16:17 And answering, Jesus said to him, Blessed are you, Simon, son of Jonah, for flesh and blood did not reveal it to you, but My Father in Heaven.

Mat 16:18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My assembly, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against her.

Peter here is "Petros" which means:

Apparently a primary word; a (piece of) rock; as a name, Petrus, an apostle: - Peter, rock.

The "rock" the Church is built on is "Petra" which means:

Feminine of the same as Petros; a (mass of) rock (literally or figuratively): - rock.

So, Peter was a small rock, the foundation of the Church was a mass of rocks, big difference.

I think Christ was saying the rock the Church was built on was Christ himself, the chief cornerstone. Also, on the confession Peter made in vs. 16.
Reply:Peter is the rock... I wonder what it was like being Jesus's friend like that- how cool :-D
Reply:Simon/Peter is an amalgum of Simon Magus and the Peter from the Jerusalem church that Paul had nothing nice to say anything about.

His name was not changed, but instead, the story of the name change is an attempt to syncretize Jewish and gentile Christianity.
Reply:The Greek text is a translation of Jesus' words, which were actually spoken in Aramaic. Aramaic only had one word for rock, kephas (which is why Peter is often called Cephas in the Bible). The word Kephas in Aramaic means "huge rock." The Aramaic word for "little stone" is "evna," and Peter was not called "Evna" or "Envas" or anything like that. In Aramaic, Jesus said "You are Peter (Kephas) and upon this rock (kephas) I will build my Church." The metaphor worked well in Aramaic where nouns are neither feminine or masculine, but in Greek, the noun "rock" was feminine, and therefore unsuitable as a name for Peter. So the Aramaic word Kephas was translated to the masculine name Petros when it referred to Peter, and to the feminine noun petra when it referred to the rock. In ancient Koine Greek, petra and petros were total synonyms, unlike modern Attic Greek and unlike Ionic Greek which was about 400 year before Christ.
Reply:Jesus asked Peter a question, who am i? Peter said, Jesus the son of God. Upon this rock I will build my church. The answer is the teachings of Jesus. On Christ the solid rock i stand all other ground is sinking sand.
Reply:You can not draw an inference from what Jesus called Peter. The answer to the mystery lies in the question which he asked Peter...Whom do you say that I am? How Peter arrived at the answer is what the church is built upon. This means to determine the answer is what made Peter have the character of a rock...and which will cause you to have the same character with the results..."the gates of hell shall not prevail".
Reply:I think you better recheck your Greek, the word is 'petros' which means little stone. If you continue reading you will see that the 2nd mentioned rock is 'petra' which means rock. Jesus was clearly saying, Peter upon the fact that you just stated, verse 16, that I am the Christ the son of the living God, upon that fact I will build my church. There is no hint of Peter receiving supremacy in these verses, contrary to catholic doctrine. In fact, no where in scripture is Peter given leadership if any had it, which they didn't, it would have probably been James. Hope this helps.
Reply:Matthew 16 -- Did Jesus Build His Church Upon Peter?

Matthew 16 and Jesus' promise to build his church upon "this rock" is a favorite proof-text for Catholics and it was discussed extensively. Rutland argued that when Jesus stated to Peter "you are the rock and it is upon this rock" he was not speaking of himself or some confession Peter made, but of Peter. Rutland supported his argument by quoting from several Protestant commentators and claiming this was the position of most Bible scholars.

Greeson responded by pointing out that Peter could not be the rock Jesus promised to build his church upon because two different words are used. Peter is masculine from Petros and refers to a small stone, such as what one would hold in their hands. Whereas, "upon this rock" is a different word. It is the feminine form of the word, which is petra, and it refers to a large foundation. The Scriptures state that "there is no other foundation other than that which is laid, Jesus Christ" (1 Cor. 3:11).

Rutland made two arguments in answer. First, he argued that Jesus spoke in Aramaic and that there was no difference in Peter and "this rock" in that language. Second, he argued that the difference in the Greek was not "theologically significant."

Greeson pointed out that Aramaic did contain masculine and feminine forms of the term for "rock." Further, since the Holy Spirit gave Matthew two different words that it certainly was significant. Greeson clearly demonstrated the significance of the difference in English using the sentence, "Thou art Mr. Rock and upon Mrs. Rock I will build my church."

Rutland also argued that Jesus giving the keys to Peter was a reference to Isaiah 22:15-24. He suggested that Peter's authority was demonstrated in Acts 2 by telling the disciples one had to be chosen to take Judas' office.

Greeson went to the early church fathers and demonstrated that there was no "unanimous consent" that Jesus built the church on Peter but that many of them stated otherwise.

Papal Succession

Rutland left the Scriptures and went to the early "church father" Irenaeus, the bishop of Lyons in 178 A.D. to support the Catholic claim of papal succession. Greeson responded by pointing out first that Irenaeus did not provide scriptural proof of papal succession. Further, Irenaeus was not authoritative as he was not an apostle nor did he claim to be guided by the Holy Spirit. Greeson took exception to Rutland's interpretation of Irenaeus' comments. He argued that Irenaeus was not and did establish either the doctrine of the supremacy of the Roman bishop nor papal succession, but Irenaeus used the Scriptures as his authority to refute the Gnostics.
Reply:I'd have to agree with you, but there seem to be a lot of people who won't just on the basis that they are prejudiced toward the Catholic church.
Reply:yes, you are so right Debra. Jesus is not the author of confusion. That is the M.O. of the Evil One.
Reply:that's why I chose Peter as my confirmation name.

He showed human frailty and extraordinary insight.
Reply:You are preaching to the choir here. In addition, why give him the keys to the kingdom?
Reply:Yes, Peter meaning "Rock" was chosen by Jesus to be the first pope.

Also, in Scripture there is mentioned different foundations for the Church...Christ..Peter...the apostles.

Should i email this girl at her work? (or her personal email or not email her at all)? what should i do??

heres the story

i met a girl thurs night last week. actually we had met before a few times. i had forgotten we had met but she remembered who i was and started the convo with me thurs night as i was ending to the bathroom. well we talked she bought me a drink (i tried to buy the drink but she insisted. she told me she can buy a drink for me if she wants), and she told me she starts her new job today as a teacher at the high school level. shes young 23 and im 26. she told me where she taught and i asked her for her full name (i had forgot what her name was!) i found the school website and her school email was on there.

question **

should i email her (should i email her school email or personal) %26amp; see if we can meet up the end of the week? i want to tell her i enjoyed talking to her and want to talk again, i just dont want to sound pathetic or desperate (i dont know what to say). she told me where she lives and its pretty close to me. i googled her name the next day, and i found her facebook profile and her art website with her personal email and her cell #! i knew it was her bc in her about me section on the site it said some things she told me like where she wass from and her college she went to. i added her on fb but couple days later i tried to find it again and it was deleted...what do you think?? i dont want to look desperate
Should i email this girl at her work? (or her personal email or not email her at all)? what should i do??
just send a friendly email to her, but remember, all her emails might be read by someone else because it is a work email

so just say something like, it was good to see you again, blah blah, something nice, but Not too personal

give her your number and ask her to give you a call sometime, then drop it, and wait

if she doesn't respond, you will have your answer

Good Luck!
Reply:It doesn't matter which email you use to contact her. Just send her an email and say hi and tell her you want to meet her again. If she's interested, she'll respond, if not, keep it cool and maybe email her a few days later..that way you won't seem too desperate.

Good Luck!
Reply:Definitely not her work e-mail. I would send her a personal e-mail. If she deleted her facebook account than maybe she is not interested.

Send her an e-mail on her personal e-mail, if she doesn't e-mail you back then you KNOW she's not intersted. Good luck buddy.
Reply:dont email her at work itll make you look like a stalker
Reply:i would suggest adding her on facebook again. perhaps she was really excited you added her then never messaged her and she got annoyed and deleted you. Send her a message on there sounding intrested but casual i.e. 'hey is this the stunning girl i met at that bar and bought me a drink? if it is i would love to repay the favour and you can tell me how the jobs going. if not i'm sorry.

Laters'

or something to that effect?
Reply:Well for starters you might not want to tell her all the info you found on her, might be a little much ya know? If you have a personal email use it, it's a lot less problems and tell her you googled her name and saw she had a web site. Make fun of yourself a little bit too, explaining that you had to do this just to get in touch with her. It might be awkward but if you make a joke of it all it could look better. Good luck.
Reply:Why not email her school address, not her work as a lot of companies monitor that - school IT guys are well known for poking through email or at least when I was a student. As far as not sounding desperate I can't help you just don't try any of those pick up lines. So keep it short tell a little about your day and end with a question about her day or something

Good luck.
Reply:No, your time to get her phone number was thurs night. Don't ever forget that you're a man, and there is something very humbling about asking a woman for her number in person. Part of asking a girl out is having the courage and the timing to do this in person. Also, women enjoy the experience of being politely asked for a phone number for a date. Don't stalk her...that's scarey for a gal.

Reply:i dont mean to be critical but you sound very desperate, lay off a little. she may get creeped out that your found all her info on the internet. next time you see her make mention that you would like to meet and maybe ask her for her number. i tend to think that group dates make a girl easier to say yes too so ask her if she would like to go to dinner with you and maybe another couple you kno. peace.
Reply:Yes, e-mail her on her personal e-mail address...and if you would like you can send a quick note to her work address telling her to check out her personal address (I know I don't check mine but 1 or 2X/week).

People have to get over this "I don't want to sound desperate" thing. go for it, if she is special enough you don't want to end up missing out because you waited so you wouldn't sound desperate.

Most people are happy to hear from a potential partner...just e-mail her.

Don't call her...she didn't give you her #, that makes you sound creepy if you say you found her number and wanted to call...let her give it to you.
Reply:I suggest you chalk it up to one that has gotten away. If she didn't ask you for your # or contact info then she may not be intrested. Her buying you a drink just may have been her feeling good, and saying "hey, I got a new job and money now, I could buy YOU a drink". But you still have that itch to contact her, just do ONE (let me say it again ONE!!) "hey, i met you at that thing, i am ____ how are you?" If you dont get an email back then you already have your answer and if you do then you have your answer.

Should i email this girl at her work? (or her personal email or not email her at all)? what should i do??

Being that she has a web site with her cell number on it why not give her a cal sine u liked talking to her so much.Compliment her on her art work on the site and take it from there.
Reply:You don't want her to know that u googled her name or she might think less of you. The only option you should even think about is the work email, personal email makes it seem like u stalked her more. Just send an email and ask whether she wants to go out.
Reply:Dude, you're in !!!! No matter what you say to her, you're in, you're in you're in. She digs you and shows interests in you, you're in!!! Desperate? She's giving you the green light.... you're in!!!! E-mail her or call her cell now!! First, tell her how you found her e-mail / number that will show your initiative in the "thrill of the chase" for her. Then ask her, "if she'll take you to dinner"? You are so in!!!! Have fun...

Under 'normal' circumstances, s/he could have wasted an entire evening of your life with the 'get to know you dinner' during which you would have had to listen to hours upon hours of nervous chatter and boring self centered conversations. What would have taken you an hour or way more to learn, you now know in the course of thirty seconds.

One can only hope that all the jerks would respond like this.

Also, give yourself credit too. The poor person that the jerk wanted you to email wont have to be bothered with this person at all.

YOu have some 'good karma' on credit now thanks to this act!

My Personal Email Printed And Distributed to Boss. What To Do ?
Despite the fact that you left yourself logged on to your personal email, I feel that co-worker had no right whatsoever to invade your privacy.

It might be a bit different if the email was your company email address. But again, no co-worker should be reading your email.

I think its great that your boss is giving you the chance to handle it yourself.

I too would stick by my word as well. I would find it hard to believe that she would have a valid lawsuit.
Reply:Don't get personal email at work.
Reply:sounds like you were using Company equipment for non-company business and or personal use and most likely a violation of company policy. It's your fault for not taking routine safety and security procedures to secure your computer and files.

Sorry, good luck

Palins personal email account for official Government Business?

First, I would like to state I do not approve that a persons personal email attack was hacked and think that is a severe violation of privacy. However, Governor Palin, just like GW used her personal yahoo email account to conduct official business so there would be no record of it. My sources:

http://blog.wired.com/27bstroke6/2008/09...

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/

So my question is this, do you think Governor Palin and other members of our Government should be allowed to use their personal email accounts for official business?

Personally, I think using her personal Yahoo email account to conduct official government business is a violation of public record laws and it is shows how Palin, McCain are just like Bush and Cheney. These Public Record Laws are there for a reason and no one should be above the law!

There should be some form of punishment for this! This is why I encourage everyone to vote for Ron Paul! What do you think?

If McCain and Palin try and dance out of this one, then I will do more then vote for Ron Paul - I will change my party affiliation to independent.

Palins personal email account for official Government Business?
some of you need to go find the screen shots that resulted from the hacks. There was a list of the emails in her in box, and some of them were indeed government business! Not that it makes the hacking of the account legal or ethically justified. Still, she does need to be held accountable for her actions as well.

Her use of the two Yahoo accounts, well at least one of them, was used to violate the laws regarding transparency in government. There are a few articles out on the web that discuss that her staff knowingly started to use this procedure to specifically get around the law. One of them has sort of blown the whistle on the group as a whole.

As for now turning around a giving my vote to a man whose opinions I don't agree with? I guess you are assuming that I'm not happy with my current plan, huh?

(btw, that time article is brilliant and puts the issue so clearly. also note that deleting the email accounts does not mean they can't be called up, Yahoo keeps backups of everything by law. http://www.time.com/time/politics/articl...
Reply:You're right. Personal e-mail accounts should not be used for state business. Those documents should remain in the system as a matter of public record. Besides that, using an outside e-mail source, particularly a web-based one, is a security risk. We've obviously just seen the consequences of that.

What if, God forbid, this woman actually was Vice-President? Sensitive information could be easily culled from her yahoo account. Not very responsible of her to leave herself so vulnerable.
Reply:I, as a member of the public, should have access to all emails for politicians who conduct government business.

However, this seems to be a habit with palin, to try and sneak around the back with potentially embarrasisng actions (is the baby hers or Bristol's? Did she really ask that librarian to censor books? When did she finally decide to kill the Bridge to Nowhere?)
Reply:I think that any judgment on this matter is moot since it was gained by illegal measures ... much of the 'official use' is speculation based simply on subject line.

McCain and Palin will undoubtedly continue to investigate the original wrongdoing and ignore any allegations based on the results of illegal activity as they should do. Any official investigation based on the information garnered via illegal activity which may well be doctored will be suspect and no honest court will even hear the case ... therefore, there is nothing for them to dance out of.

One last time for clarity ... screenshots are not official since they can be modified.
Reply:You have it backwards genius. One shouldn't use a Government account for personal email. Try and find something important to tie yourself into a knot over. If you don't want to vote Republican, then don't. You don't have to make them out to be evil, just as being a Democrat doesn't make one evil. Maybe you're evil. I don't know. Just relax man.
Reply:So far...all the email that have been released publicly online have been of a PERSONAL nature. There has been NOTHING even politically damaging. Why do you ppl all think you have to jump the gun with your smears and attacks. The woman was violated in a very nasty way, and all of a sudden the left smear machine starts in and trys to turn it around AGAIN on her. Typical
Reply:Check out this time magazine article about how Palin had 2 personal email accounts and one was wiped out after it was discovered by troopergate investigators and it is possible they will include an obstruction of justice charge as well!!http://www.time.com/time/politics/articl...
Reply:There is nothing to "dance" out of. They were all personal emails. The only email even remotely connected to her job was one to the Lt. Governor lamenting the treatment of the press. Hardly, "government" business...... get you facts straight BEFORE you post!
Reply:Nice lie.

Can you say WATERGATE? Obama will forever more be linked to Nixon!

This is as big a lie as the so-called 'troopergate' hoax and don't forget the anonymous waitress named Lucille!

You little jerks better NEVER leave Mommy's basement else us Americans will do you in!
Reply:Didn't see any official government business in her emails. I do find it a little odd that after the Dem's sent 30 lawyers to Alaska to investigate her records, etc. that her email was hacked. This smells to high heaven. ***
Reply:In this day and age is any device "pure" one way or the other? For example don't you have work and personal stuff on your email, laptop, cell phone, etc, etc.

Dems - they'll dig for dirt on Palin but they won't dig for oil.
Reply:Nice question! I am to understand that there is no security when you use E-Mail. Then I was more sure when Bush opened up his new rules. So why ***** about it. The rules have changed and will not be different no matter who becomes President. Live with it!
Reply:there was no government information available! Color it anyway you personally wish, the bottom line is it is a felony and the creep is probably a damn liberal
Reply:I agree - hacking an email account is a federal crime and those responsible should be prosecuted.

As should Palin for the various ethical and legal violations she has committed.
Reply:Cheney and Rove did this for years in the White House. They used RNC email accounts for official White House business.

More of the same.
Reply:Don't forget to scrub your fingernails when you're done scraping. The bottoms of them barrells are notoriously dirty.

Now, we dance!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ub7f687t...
Reply:It was an attempt to dodge the disclosure rules. So much for the "transparency" Palin claims to support.
Reply:I didn't see ANY e-mails of hers that were striclty OFFICIAL business being used on her private account.
Reply:They are hypocrites

there should be some form of punishment....but there wont be they can pretty much do whatever they want

bush will pardon them...
Reply:John McCain has launched an inquiry to find out what "email" is .

Reply:There was nothing "official business" in these emails! They were all personal. Just because someone is on your staff doesnt mean that everything you say to them is business. I have mostly my whole offices personal e-mail address and they have mine. So what??They were regular chit chat messages between friends. I'm sure that if she used the government e-mail address for these types of messages you would be bitching about her wasting taxpayer resources.

Regardless of who or how or why, retrieving someones e-mail without their permission is a federal crime!! Not only that but posting the contents, and pictures of her family to the internet is absolutely disgusting! I dont care if you like her or not, all Americans have the same rights. If her e-mail was under suspicion by someone they would have to go about the proper channels to get access. Stealing and taking the law into your own hands is never right. If everybody just handed out what they thought someone else deserved we would really be in a clusterf*ck.

I hope whoever did this gets prosecuted.
Reply:Didn't I read about this somewhere else last week...? Oh! That's right! It made the front page of the National Inquirer that I lined my bird cage with. The birds had no problem at all dumping excrement all over it because that's all it's full of! Perhaps IF people put down their beers and cigs, rolled off the couch and waddle out into society some time, they might learn some real factual news instead of taking the tabloids as gospel. Personally, I think that Governor Palin is the breath of fresh air that Americans desperately NEED but a few that are sponging off others are afraid that their free meal ticket is about to disappear. I'm praying hard for a McCain-Palin landslide to victory so that the changes will finally come about!
Reply:Not only did she use her personal email address-she picked easy to identify addresses (govsarah and govpalin) then is surprised that hackers "found" her? And the Republicans are claiming that Obama supporters hacked her account while the hackers are still unknown?

The media has been used by the McCain campaign with faked outrage and outrageous distortions of the facts. This is to keep the true issues from being discussed intelligently-The economy and the Iraq/Afghanistan wars and the proposed war with Iran. The media is beginning to realize how they have been played. I hope the public wakes up to.

The media is getting wise to these tactics as stated in a Times-CNN Report:

"By the weekend, many news organizations had mounted a backlash of their own, running prominent pieces accusing the self-branded "straight-talking" McCain of deceiving voters. "The 'Straight-Talk Express' has detoured into doublespeak," announced the Associated Press, while the New York Times blared, "McCain Barbs Stirring Outcry as Distortions."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEtZlR3zp...

As for Palin-her own distortions are beginning to surface-Her claim to have gone to Iraq? Countered by those controlling the boarder-she came to the boarder but did not enter. Her claim to have been to Ireland? Her plane landed for refueling-she did not get off that plane. That she oversaw 20% of the domestic fuel supply? In reality 3% to 7 % of the supply.
Reply:I don't know what the public records law is for Alaska. I do know what they are for Florida. Basically, the Fl courts have held that while e-mails are public record, their useful record life is deemed to be only as needed. Therefore, e-mails can be deleted right away and not violate the public records law. Only if they are printed, saved, or backed-up, do they become a more perminate record. The line of reasoning for the court was that e-mails are no different than phone calls. I'm sure some public officials use their person telephone or cell phones for business too.

When I worked in local government, we had a server that went down and so we used our personal e-mail accounts. Did this create a public record? Technically yes, but under the law, the record need only be kept as long as it served value, to be determined by the party involved. Therefore, I deleted them.
Reply:Hacking e-mail is a federal crime. A TV anchor who broke into his colleague鈥檚 e-mail account recently pleaded guilty and faces a maximum five years in prison.

The law will catch up to the hackers, but what about the lowlifes who are now gleefully splashing the alleged contents of Palin鈥檚 private e-mail account all over the Internet?

The Gawker smear machine 鈥?see here for all the background you need 鈥?has posted private family photos of Palin鈥檚 children that were apparently stolen from the e-mail account.

They have used Bristol Palin鈥檚 illegally obtained private cell phone number from her mom鈥檚 private account, recorded her voicemail message, and posted it on their website.

They have reprinted her husband Todd鈥檚 private e-mail address and son Track鈥檚 private e-mail address.

You think this is just a harmless prank? Those of you who have had to deal with break-ins and identity theft know exactly what a burdensome process it is to recover from crimes like this.

Gawker knowingly and deliberately published illegally obtained photos of the Palin children.
