Is Yahoo aware that personal email addresses are given with this new "your contact has asked a question" thing

Seems like a potentially dangerous situation. (Not that I don't trust my contacts.)
Is Yahoo aware that personal email addresses are given with this new "your contact has asked a question" thing
i was just about to ask the same question ,this morning i received a letter stating that one of my contact had asked a question on yahoo, it showed the email of the contact ,so if i ask a question ? would the people who put me as their contact get my email as well ? my email is not available for others , this is somewhat weird if you do not wish to get contacted ? do you have an answer to that ? i am asking you since you are talking about this subject


and by the way, thank you for bringing this up :-)


now i worry a bit ,as to if i ask a question ,would they have access to my email ?





ps: thank you so much for responding to me :-) so ? if i ask a question , even tough i do not accept email , all the people who put me as their contact will get my email ? what ! this cannot be ? this is like you said a big invasion of my privacy ! or just the ones that i had as contacts ? i erased all of my contacts this morning in a panic :-( i am not unfriendly , but my yahoo address is private and i have had it for years , i sure did not want people to know it , even if i do appreciated alot of people here :-)


i certainly will not ask another question here until i know for sure why in the world this is happening ?

i tried to email you , but it says , that i have to allow my email to be shown in order to be able to write you :-( it does not work :-( for once i would have written to someone ,drats !

RE : now ? here is this new thing, somebody adds you to their list of contacts ? and automatically ends up in your contacts that you suppose to pick yourself ? how is that ? you were the only one ; and now ? this guy ? how ????? beats me !

Reply:I wasn't - Thanks for the tip. My contacts are pretty legit. If I start getting E mails though I'll get rid of all 3.
Reply:The thing is, it's not your CONTACTS that get the e-mails ... it is your FANS. Not people that you choose, but people who choose you. eg could be stalkers.





I find this a bit alarming personally ... although I only use this e-mail address for Y!A and nothing else.





I'd be more worried about someone getting hold of a kid's e-mail address, I mean they could send them dirty pix or anything.
Reply:They should not show it if you don't allow it.
Reply:i'm sure they are aware. i think you opt in to that . you can be anonymous, if you chose.
meaning of names
