New to this, ok. How does one invite specific people to join a group (i.e. by personal email perhaps) ?

If you're the owner, go to the group page, click Members (on the left), then click Invite People (top of page), and enter the email addresses you wish you invite.





If you're not the owner, email your friends this link, changing the group name to the group you're in:
